Terms of Service
TO BE COMPLETED: this page has never been dated — set `lastUpdated` in src/lib/legal.js
These terms govern your use of this website and the learning portal. By creating an account or buying access, you agree to them.
1. Who you are contracting with
This service is operated by TO BE COMPLETED: registered company name, registered at TO BE COMPLETED: registered address. “We” and “us” mean that company; “you” means the person using the service.
2. Your account
You must be 16 or over. Give us accurate details and keep them current. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself — and turn on two-factor authentication if the account matters to you.
One person, one account. Sharing an account with somebody else, or letting another person use your access to a course, is the one thing that will get an account closed without a refund.
3. Access paid for by a college or employer
An organisation can buy access for its people, capped by a number of seats. If you have access that way:
- Your access lasts as long as the organisation keeps paying and keeps you as a member. If they remove you, or their invoice goes unpaid past its due date, that access stops.
- An administrator at the organisation can see your progress on the courses they paid for. This is set out in the Privacy Policy, section 4.
- Anything you bought yourself is unaffected by any of the above.
4. Courses, events and what you may do with them
Course material, event recordings and everything else on the service belong to us or to the instructor who made them. Buying access buys you a personal, non-transferable right to view it for as long as your access lasts.
You may not download, record, copy, resell or republish it, and you may not use it to train a machine-learning model. Notes you take for yourself are yours.
What you post — questions, discussion, reviews, assignment work — stays yours. You give us permission to display it inside the service so it can do its job. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, or that is not yours to post; we may remove it if you do.
5. Payment
Prices are shown before you buy and are payable in full at the time of purchase, through Stripe. We never see your card details.
Organisations are billed by invoice. An invoice states the days you have to pay it; access continues while it is within that period, and is suspended once it has passed. Paying the invoice restores access.
6. Refunds and cancellation
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have 14 days to change your mind about a purchase. If you ask us to give you access to a course immediately, and you then use it, that right ends — that is what the law provides, and we will tell you so before you start.
Outside that, we will refund a purchase where the service was not delivered as described, or where an event was cancelled. A refund also ends the access it paid for.
To ask for one, write to TO BE COMPLETED: contact address for refund requests.
7. Live events
Times and speakers can change, and occasionally an event is cancelled. Where we cancel, you get a refund or a place at the rescheduled event, whichever you prefer.
Online events run over Zoom. Sessions may be recorded; where they are, we say so before the session starts.
8. Certificates
A certificate is issued when you complete the requirements of a course, or attend an event that offers one. It carries a number anybody can check on this site, and it stays verifiable after your access ends.
A certificate says you completed our course. It is not a professional qualification, an accreditation, or a licence to practise anything, and we do not present it as one.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service running, and we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We may take it down for maintenance, and we will give notice where we reasonably can.
10. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything here.
Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
11. Ending it
You may close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where we do we will tell you why.
Closing an account does not automatically refund unused access; see section 6. Certificates you have earned remain verifiable.
12. Changes, and the law that applies
We may change these terms. Where a change matters to you we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the law of TO BE COMPLETED: governing law and jurisdiction, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
13. Contact
Write to TO BE COMPLETED: contact address.
